INES researchers will be present at the X Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality - SBQS’2011, with the papers “RiPLE-TE: A Software Product Lines Testing Process“ authored by Ivan do Carmo Machado, Eduardo Santana de Almeida and Silvio Romero de Lemos Meira and “RiSE Reference Model for Software Reuse Adoption in Brazilian Companies ” by Vinicius Garcia, Eduardo Santana de Almeida and Silvio Romero de Lemos Meira . The papers were  accepted in the Software Quality Thesis and Dissertations Competition (CTDQS).

The Software Quality Thesis and Dissertations Competition (CTDQS’2011) aims to promote and award the best M.Sc. dissertations and Ph.D. thesis in the field of software quality, defended and approved in Brazil during the year 2010.

The CTDQS is also intended to encourage further work in postgraduate on Quality Software and stimulating University-Industry interaction in this area.

This work were developed inside the project An Investigation of Methods, Processes, Tools, and Metrics for the evelopment of Software Product Lines (SPL) — in portuguese, Uma Investigação de Processos, Ferramentas e Métricas para o Desenvolvimento de Linhas de Produto de Software.

The paper entitled Towards an Ubiquitous and Context Sensitive Public Transportation Systemwas accepted on the 4th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (U-Media 2011). This paper is a result of the work being done by the researchers of the project “Models, Processes and Tools for the Development of Context-Sensitive Systems” that resulted in the project accepted in the Grand Challenges for Computer Science call (2010) see list here.

The paper presents UbiBus, a proposal for a ubiquitous, context-sensitive public transportation system that aims to specify and implement technological solutions (e.g. models, algorithms and tools) to ease the access to information about public transportations. It considers the mobility of people and vehicles and the occurrence of dynamic factors that could affect the transportation and provide passengers with advanced information about the available public transportation in a city.
