  • INES acquires furniture for the research laboratory at UFPB

    The INES project “Investigating Algorithms, Techniques and Tools for Search Based Software Engineering” is acquiring furniture to support and organize activities of researchers at UFPB. The project is buying: 6 top cabinets for books, 6 tables for equipments, 8 bulkheads for space division, 6 shelves for personal small things, and 2 vertical towers with small shelves for shared small things.

    INES will attend the Tenth International Conference on Systems and Networks Communications (ICSNC 2015) and the Tenth International Conference on Software Engineering and Advances 2015 (ICSEA 2015) to present the following papers: “Categorization of Technologies used for Fingerprint-Based Indoor Localization”, authors: Mario Melo and Gibeon Aquino; and “An Extensible Platform for the Treatment of Heterogeneous Data in Smart Cities”,  authors: Cícero Alves and Gibeon Aquino. The conferences will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from November 15th to 20th, 2015.

  • INES at WebMedia 2015

    INES will attend the XXI Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and the Web (WebMedia 2015), to present the paper entitled: “An Extensible Platform for the Transformation of Heterogeneous Data in Smart Cities”,  authors: Cícero Alves and Gibeon Aquino. This paper is a result of MSc research of Cícero Alves under supervision of Gibeon Aquino (UFRN). The conference will be held in Manaus (Brazil) as part of 21th  from 27-October-2015 to 30-October-2015.

  • INES at ICTSS 2015

    Cleverton Hentz Antunes, PhD student at the ForAll Group (INES-UFRN), will present the paper   “Reducing the Cost of Grammar-based Testing  using Pattern Coverage” at the 27th International Conference on Testing Software and Systems (ICTSS 2015). The paper is a result of the research carried out during his PhD sandwich in CWI-Amsterdam.

    INES researcher Gustavo Pinto has one paper accepted for publication and presentation at the 12th Working Conference on Mining Software Repositories (MSR 2015), co-located with ICSE 2015, in Florence, Italy, on May 16th - 17th May 2015. Gustavo will be attending the conference.

  • UFPE and UFAL Researchers at FOSD Meeting 2015 and ICSE 2015

    INES researchers Leopoldo Teixeira and Márcio Ribeiro will attend the FOSD Meeting 2015, held at the International Academy Traunkirchen, Austria, between May 13th and 16th. FOSD is an workshop within the field of software development for variability-rich software systems and feature-oriented software development (FOSD). The main goal of the meeting is to foster intensive and interactive discussions around the aforementioned topics. The meeting provides an open and stimulating atmosphere and encouraged presentations at different levels of maturity. During the meeting, the following works will be presented: “A Product Line of Theories for Reasoning about Safe Evolution of Product Lines” and “An Empirical Study on Fine-Grained Feature Dependencies.”

    Besides the FOSD Meeting, Leopoldo will also attend the 37th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE’2015), to be held in Florence, Italy, in May 2015. There, he will also attend a satellite event of ICSE, the New Faculty Symposium. The main purpose is to make new contacts and meet collaborating researchers for discussion about ongoing projects.

    This activity is part of the “Tools for Developing and Evolving Software Product Lines” and “Making Program Evolution Safer” projects.

  • INES at IPSN 2015

    Gibeon Aquino, Professor at UFRN and INES Researcher, will attend the 14th International Symposium on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN 2015). IPSN is part of CPS Week and the CPS Week 2015 will be held in Seattle, WA in April 2015. It consists of four sister conferences: HSCC: 18th ACM International Conference on Hybrid Systems: Computation and Control, ICCPS: 6th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems, IPSN: 14th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks, and RTAS: 21th IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium. The researcher pretends to attend this conferece in order to better understand the advances in the conference topics, in special on applications and practices related to indoor localization problem. Moreover, there is a special interest in observing the Microsoft Indoor Localization Competition which will be co-located with IPSN 2015. This activity is part of the project “Indolor - Indoor Location Radar”.

  • UFPE Researcher at ICSE 2015

    INES researcher Fernando Castor will attend the 37th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), to be held in Florence, Italy, in May 2015. Fernando will also attend two satellite events of ICSE, the International Working Conference on Mining Software Repositories and the International Workshop on Green and Sustainable Computing. Fernando is co-author of a paper accepted for publication in the latter event:
